Experimental prototype — not an official warning system

About

Who operates this prototype, and who does not.

What this is

vShark is an experimental coastal-intelligence prototype for Sydney's Northern Beaches. It publishes a relative, uncalibrated interaction-risk sketch so the method and data gaps can be inspected. It is not a warning system.

Who this is not

vShark is an independent experimental prototype. It is not the NSW Government, DPI / DPIRD SharkSmart, Surf Life Saving Australia, Northern Beaches Council, or the Bureau of Meteorology.

Official beach safety remains: swim between the flags, follow lifeguards and closures, and use NSW SharkSmart.

Public proof

The useful public output is the inspectable registry and methodology, not a swim permission. See Support / public proof for what the data can and cannot tell you, and how to fund independence.
