How this prototype handles data, and how to complain.
Personal information
The public site does not create user accounts. It does not ask for location permission or swim plans. The contact form optionally collects a name, email address, and message so we can reply. Hosting and CDN logs (IP address, user agent, URL) may be processed by the deployment platform in the ordinary course of serving the site.
Assessments
Beach assessments are generated from labelled environmental observations and, where present, detection records. They are experimental. vShark is an independent experimental prototype. It is not the NSW Government, WA Government, DPI / DPIRD SharkSmart, Surf Life Saving Australia, Surf Life Saving WA, Northern Beaches Council, City of Joondalup, or the Bureau of Meteorology.
